Upland Hunt

The preserve is located just 10 minutes west of Gainesville, TX, and is an easy hour from most places in the DFW area. We operate on approximately 800 acres of Texas Black land Prairie which is an excellent natural habitat for the upland birds. The Standard Hunting Package is 2 pheasants, 2 chukar and 6 quail per paid hunter and includes free guide service with dog(s), a meal and bird cleaning. The hunts start at 9:00am with meal to follow or 1:00pm with meal before hunting. These are pen raised birds that are released immediately before your hunt by your guide (the natural predators (coyotes, foxes and hawks) are quick to locate these tasty treats) thus the reason for immediate release prior to your hunt. Sometimes the hunters locate birds from previous hunts and those are fair game too! The mixed bag can be adjusted at your request, e.g. if you want more chukar and no quail, etc., depending on your request, prices may change slightly. The hunts basically last 3 hours and do require a substantial amount of walking.
My goal is to ensure you and your guests have a relaxing and enjoyable hunt. Please feel free to contact me at this email address (texasreddogs@att.net.) As mentioned on THF, the price is $235 per hunter. This is a great day of fun for you and your friends or a great way to entertain those special customers.

We operate on approximately 800 acres of Texas Black Land Prairie which is an excellent natural habitat for the upland birds. If you prefer, I have a really nice location outside of De Leon, TX with bunkhouse accomodations so your group can spend the night and enjoy a full weekend of Texas country. We have clay pigeon trap to get you warmed up and ready for the hunt. Y'all give DoubleB a shot. He has some awesome dogs, and runs a first class hunt.

Yes, Brian puts on a great hunt! I always do one or two hunts with him after duck season.

Thanks fellas. I can do a special priced hunt this Saturday, Dec 18. Let's say 20 quail with lunch for $195. Need at least two hunters to pay my expenses. I know it's tough right before Christmas...but it could also double as a gift.

This is a really good deal. I have a friend who is going up to a ranch near Madador this weekend, to day hunt. He's paying $250 a day, first day in advance.
