New Build, 4' x 5'

New Build, 4' x 5' - 02/22/22 09:03 PM

Deerview windows on the way. Most of my near death experiences as a kid was with my dad, trying to get a tower stood up with a blind on top. I build them so they go up one wall at a time, lag screws do the rest. No winch or tractor required. [Linked Image]

Looks pretty much like mine, but your rain deflectors are nicer.

1 x 4, or 2 x 4" ripped at 45°. Scrap pile utilization.

Nice blind but I would put two or three coats of paint on it.

Didn't get it on tower, partners had something come up and couldn't make it, maybe next weekend. Did get it delivered to lease and new decking attached to tower for the floor so it's ready to go. Deerview windows were delivered last week so once I get it screwed together the windows will go in and I'll be done. It will go quick. Put up side wall, using self tapping #14 screws through bottom plate, through floor decking and into steel tower angle metal, one screw in the middle so you can pivot the wall as the front wall goes up. Same process on the front wall, one good wood screw wall to wall in the corner. That's the only hard part. Second side wall, screw to floor and into angle metal, attach the corner with a screw. Back wall, roof. Once in place, I go back with three heavy lag screws in each corner, and a total of three self tapping screws on each wall into frame of stand. The roof is a cap, lag screws from inside through top of wall, into frame of roof cap. Kinda like this one [Linked Image]

Done. First night we had 40 mph winds. The way we put these together and stake towers down is rock solid. Deerview makes a great product, this is my second build using this style. [Linked Image]

Anybody want one? I will build it.

I started one for one of our hunting partners and have one of the hardest walls complete, a side wall. An existing stand in place became available so he is going that route. I really don't have room for this in my garage. I also already have some additional material. When complete you will take this home in six pieces: floor, four walls ready for the windows you order from deerview and the roof. The floor is 3/4", I already have this piece. Buy the material, keep your receipt. Return what I don't use. Bring beer and help, we'll knock it in a day. Leave the material for me to build and I'll build it in a week or so. All I want is the cost of the material I already have in it.

That’s a great offer!
