Electrified feeder pen

Has any one ever tried a hot wired fence around the feeder?

Just think you could keep hogs and coons from getting to the feeder, you could even wire up the feeder to keep coons and squirrels off.

I know a man who put up a short electric fence to keep hogs off of his protein feeders and it worked good. Just needs more maintenance to keep the grass, weeds and brush from grounding out the fence. The deer were able to jump it easily since it was only 2 wires with one at 6"-8" and the other at 16" or so IIRC. American Hunter Feeder company used to sell a spin feeder control unit that had a varmit cage that was wired to a built in electric fence controller. It was low voltage type but said to have worked okay for coons. Best thing for coons is to trap them off.
