How to get a 5X5 from one sheet of plywood.

That works. Or you can buy a 5x10 sheet and get two.

Home Depot and Lowes don't carry that size. Where do you special order that size?

You would think they make it, but in 48 years I've never come across one.

I did the math and if you split up the long length (8 ft) to 5ft and 3 ft, it won't work because the new width will end up being 5 1/2. So, it won't be perfectly square since it will be 5 by 5 1/2. To get it perfectly square, it will actually end up be 5 1/3 by 5 1/3 (or 5 ft. 4 in. by 5 ft. 4 in.). I did some drawing and I tried to copy and paste them on to here but it did not work. If anybody needs to see it, just send me a pm with your email and I'll send them to you.

Russian birch plywood is 5x5. They sell it for cabinets because it has many more laminations than regular plywood and no voids. We used to use it for drawer side material. It is about as expensive as any other cabinet grade birch.

Baltic Birch comes in 5 x 5. Cabinet makers use it for drawer slides. Only 1/2" thick but 7 plies
