SCORPIONS!! - 09/25/14 05:17 AM

went out to the lease this afternoon to check cams, blinds and feeders. I've got 2 popup blinds, one which is overrun with scorpions. every nook and cranny they are there. mainly between the window and mesh or places like that. whats the remedy for these guys? aside from just setting the damn blind on fire

You can spray them with something like Ortho Home Defense spray and it will eventually kill them, and will keep killing them for a few months, as long as the sprayed area is not exposed to rain. I've found most all poisons take a few days to kill them....they're tough little buggers!

I use demon from TSC at the trailer and at home inside and out it works, and safe for women, children, and sissy men.

This^^^^^^^ Spray the whole inside of the blind and on the ground inside it. It will last a couple of months as long as it does not get wet inside the blind. If it does get damp or wet inside just respray it once it is dry.

Bought some demon today. How concentrated are you mixing it? And how often do you re apply on ground blinds etcetera?

I mix as per directions which is plenty strong. How often depends on amount of rainfall and the amount of new bugs I am seeing.

After you kill them "before they multiply" get you some indoor/outdoor type carpet and cut it to fit about 6 inches per side bigger than your pop up dimensions at the bottom. Fold it up inside and duct tape to the lower wall of the blind to seal it off. Doing this helps with scent control as well to keep wind from blowing in on the upwind side....

I add two of the water soluble packs per gallon of water then spray. You don't need as much for other stuff.

If you have the time, source it on the internet under the name Cyper WP. It is the generic Demon and Cynoff WP but at about 1/2 the price. I use it all the time to control spiders but it also works on scorpions as they are both arachnids.

Surrender works great also and you can get it at almost any ACE or True Value store. We spray all of our blinds with it and never see anytihng.

I buy Demon WP at TSC in a pinch, but usually order it on Amazon and get 4 times as much at 1/3 the cost. Don't forget to spray around your cameras too, my buddy got stung checking a camera that was tied to a tree.

We spray the inside of the cabin thoroughly twice a year (spot spray around doors/windows a couple more times), spray the outside cabin walls about 4 times a year, blinds twice a year, camera areas once a month and around the wood pile very often.
