Travel rifle/shotgun case - 10/19/21 04:02 PM

Any recommendations on a travel case that is airline rated for shotgun and rifle? I borrowed a friends last time I traveled and now its time I buy my own. I don’t want to break the bank but don’t want to get a weapon damaged either.

Pelican 1720 is pretty hard to beat. I've flown with mine alot and that thing is bulletproof.

Stopped by the Higginbotham Brother's in Crossplains yesterday and they had the V800 Vault for $129, plenty of room for a couple boxes of ammo, binoculars and or range finder.

I use a Pelican 1720, two trips to Africa and no problems.
If flying don’t put ammunition in with guns.
I was in Higginbotham Brother's in Crossplains two weeks ago.

True, if international. I've even had to put it in a separate, locked box and check it separately once.

But, Alaska Airlines had no problem with 2 boxes of ammo in with my rifle, both going into and coming out of Juneau a few weeks ago. 'Helped keep my duffel bag weight under the limit.
