UNICORN CAPTURED in the wild!- VARGET on the shelf - 06/04/22 08:36 PM

On my way to DFW I randomly decided to stop at a hole in the wall gun shop……

First time I’ve seen this on a shelf in 5 years!

I didn’t realize it was rare....saw quite a few last week on the shelve. They did have a two bottle limit but had every Hodgdon powder except H4895.
In Marion Tx
I was looking for Vihtavuori N140 which they didn’t have but found it later that day and an 8lb at that!

Saw some yesterday and actually bought #8 of H4350.

I captured RL-15 while traveling for work in OKC. Also scored a pound of Varget.

Haven’t tried the RL-15 yet. May not either if I can get Varget to group tightly.

Powder is getting easier to find. I've stopped stocking up on even the more popular ones like H4350 and Varget because it's been pretty easy to come across the last couple of months.

$51.50 a for the pound and yes I bought it.

Dstroud- Comparing Trainer Hale supply in Marion to other stores in Texas is like comparing Your local gas station to a fuel supply depot.

FYI - Trainer Hale was the last place I was able to buy primers and powder(that I wanted) before this recent score of 1lbs varget.

That was 5 years ago and I had to make the drive from Austin to Marion as that was the ONLY place that had components

I keep getting emails from midsouth, midway, and brownells when it's in stock, but it's gone before I can get to the website. Found some IMR XBR8208 the other day in a hole in the wall shop and actually got some of that. Still havent seen any on the shelf varget.

Saw H4350 at the gun show in Conroe last week for $69 and Retumbo for $79. Don't know if anyone paid that, but I sure didn't.

The Allen Cabela’s had maybe 4 or 5 cans … at $47.50/lb. Eye watering prices, for sure.

I scored 5 pounds of Re16 today. Hadn't seen it in maybe three years...I'm not anywhere near running out of it, but I ain't one to wait until I'm desperate. Learned that back in '09 or thereabouts. Now I don't have to worry.

Trainer Hale has Varget, H4350 and many others in stock. 2lbs per customer per powder type, prices are reasonable.

i really believe this is price gouging just like at the pump or anywhere else , remember (toilet paper) ?

capitalism is one thing, but screwing customers is another. I would love to see what BP and CABELAS invoices from Hodgdon show.
