I just ordered an AR15 in it

Mainly because of cheap ammo being always available and it'll be a pig gun mostly

BUT, lets say I wanted some good brassed cased stuff for deer...

Are yall seeing it anywhere?

I really haven't looked for the good stuff until this afternoon

Your world must be different , I think the cheap ammo is gone forever. I stocked up years ago, but I don't think we will ever see .20rd anymore.

$0.40 is cheap for brass 7.62X39.
$0.40 was cheap three years ago for brass 7.62X39.
Steel case bulk is $0.40 now. Tula is $0.37 plus shipping at SGA.

Speaking of SGAmmo ... they have Winchester soft points in brass cases like you want for $1.95 per round (200 rounds $389.50) plus shipping.
The best deal I could find you was $1.75 per round for the same Winchester but it's from "The Castle Arms" and I have never bought from them. I trust SGAmmo.

It's the soft point bullet that's making the price so high. Brass FMJ is less than half price of the soft point. Also BEWEARE there are a lot of corrosive loads making it back out on the market as demilled ammo is being recycled for the primers.

For anyone else who runs one, are y'all upgrading the firing pin?

Thats what I am hearing to do anyway

Id prefer to 100% just run brass but that kinda defeats the purpose of even buying it

The magazine is the most important part regarding function of a 7.62X39 AR platform. I prefer C-products (CPD) magazines.

Thats what I hear

I ordered...

2-AR-Stoner 10 rounders
2-Duramag 20 rounders

I wanted to try and keep the mags straight, idk if that I going to help or not

I can look at the cost of the parts, make sure I can replace them, and get back to you. If I can replace them, it would not be a problem. But my stuff ain't cheap, it's perfect. You cannot have both.

I have run about 1000 rounds Tula and Wolf Steel in a BCA upper Polymer Lower homemade with no problems and minute of hog accuracy.

I have the cproducts and the promag magazines and both have ran fine but I do not full mag dump.

Thinking about getting a 10 rounder because those fully loaded 30+/- rounders are heavy.
