Redding T-7 Turret Press Question

Question for anyone with precision loading experience on this press.....because you are pressing the ram into the outer perimeter of the turret, do you get any variation when bumping shoulders or seating from the turret "flexing"?

I have not used that one but the old Lyman Spar-T was one with a problem with flex and though I loaded some OK ammo it got regulated to handgun plinking ammo. The Lyman T-Mag fixed those flex issues a lot and I have heard the Redding is a solid press as one might expect from Redding, but no personal experience with it.

I have two Redding T-7s and I have experienced no issues.

There is only a very slight flex with the T-7. Per Sinclair International the Redding T-7 is the only turret press they recommend for precision handloading.

They are tanks.

I used one to seat all my bullets for a couple years and it worked fine but I can say the turret does have a minuscule about of for lack of a better term “ tilt” to the turret when under force. But it’s the same each time so I never saw it as a problem.

As DStroud said tilt is what the turret presses have. I used to use an RCBS turret press. That is until I found myself loading for more cartridges than two turrets could support.

Forster Co-Ax is the most versatile press I've found for ease of die swapping. Only a few seconds to go from sizing .300 Win Mag to seating 7mm-08. Pull out the die you don't need, slide in the die you do need. Move on about your business.

Here is a turret that doesn’t have any “tilt” that I can detect... cost a little more.

Dude, that is crazy expensive for a press.

Redding has a procedure for lapping the bushing to remove the excess play. It helps a lot if you have any play in a new turret/bushing.

Redding T-7 Still Within Spec, After all that loading, Redding tested the press and, remarkably, found that it still remained “within spec”. Redding notes: “This press was subjected to real world reloading wear and stress yet remains within ‘new’ spec after this historic test”. At the Dallas NRA event, this press was fitted with indicators to show “just how good American Steel and craftsmanship remains after what, in a normal situation, would represent numerous lifetimes of use.”

I only use a t7 to seat on and occasionally I'll check runout and its always miniscule.
