At $269 for one jug after shipping & hazmat, they might have some stock for awhile. That's crazy.

Southwest ammo in mesquite still gets stock every now and again. I paid $200 OTD for an 8-pounder a couple months ago.

LOL - backorder from 2013.

I see $229 when I look at the 8-pound jug, not $269...but still, that's pretty steep. That must be why it's still available.

Just GUESSING, but I get the feeling that Hodgdon wants to get more leverage over ADI and that's why they're pushing IMR to develop all these new temperature tolerant powders. Or maybe they're tired of the hassles of having to import from Autralia. In ten years, the lineup could look quite different. ADI powders could be on the way out in the US, who knows...

I've tried IMR4451 in the .30-06 and I had no complaint, I just ended up going with Re16. I am hearing and reading that IMR4451 is every bit as good in the .30-06 as H4350 is, and I suspect it would work as well in the 6.5 Creedmoor. I suspect the same may be true of Re16.

^^Yup.

I'm out of H-4350, and have 10 pounds of IMR-4451, on stand-by. Once I make the switch, I highly doubt I'll bounce back to H-4350. It is just too difficult to obtain.

I'm just glad we have members here like JG, Chad, Jeffbird and a few others who are taking the time to research these new powders. really helps the rest of us have starting points

Reloading Unlimited could have just raised the prices on H4350 due to high demand and to make a profit.

I still have three one pounders and an 8 pound jug of H4350 left , looks like enough to burn out my 6.5 Creed barrel. By the time I get a new barrel put on it, I'll have to choose what powder will be readily available in 8 pound jugs.

I like getting powder from Powder Valley, they selling H4350 in 8 lbs for $185 which is a good deal, but not available.

A lot of vendors have...mix in haz mat and shipping it adds up. I can get 8 pounders right now that will be a little over 200 to my door. That's still about 25/pound. Still better than Cabelas and such, guess I should grab a couple

I see.

Looking at a few other merchants on line, it appears that there's a gouging trend on H4350. Bruno lists eight pounds of H4831 at $185, while an eight of H4350 is listed at $250 (and it's available, by the way). I haven't checked others.

Merchants can charge whatever they like for the stuff in their warehouses, but I don't have to buy it. They put upward pressure on prices and we put downward pressure on prices. In the end that's a good thing even if we're not always happy with the way it's going.
