Which for hunting deer, antelope out to 500 yards

Lapua more accurate?

or move up to 7mm-08

looking at another new rifle, 90% hunting and shooting long range steel, 10% match shooting, 10 shots in 8 minutes

Toss up for that criteria list. If you don't reload the x47 doesn't need to be an option.

Pure accuracy I feel the x47 is a touch better but most likely can't shoot the difference.

Dee is right.

And neither of the 6.5mm will hit as hard as the 7mm-08.

7mm-08 will do it all, and does a good job at any task you give it.

162 ELD-X, 40.0 gr of Varget, and let it eat.

Both 6.5's run almost the same speed, with similar case geometry. Both can be made to shoot very accurate. The x47 was designed with pure efficiency and consistency in moind with the shoulder angle, case body and small primer pocket. The small primer pocket will also increase the amount of reloads, for about 15-20. With Lapua coming out with small primer brass for the CM, it evens up the two cases a little bit. I would still lean more towards the x47, but if you went with the small primer brass, either will do just fine. I shoot the x47 as my comp rifle, and it's the best round I've even shot, in regards to mainly consistency and accuracy is very good.

My son uses a Remington 700 in 300 Ultramag.
If he can see it, he can kill it.

And he always has proof to show it. A large circular wound around the right eye.

* I watched him take 3 does with 3 rounds at 650 - 800 yards in about 15 minutes.
