This winter I want to pick up a BP rifle , get a full set up and practice to hunt next season . Does anyone know a place that does instructions on prep, loading, shooting and cleaning around DFW?

If someone on here has the time I'd be glad to pay for the supplies used and spend the day learning.

Go to CVA.com or Utube and search CVA and you will find a ton of great vidieos, from basics to full blown hunting. They are so simple now there is not relay that much to learn.

My 14 year old has shot a couple, when he got his he was like an old prow the first time out.

plenty of videos our there just as rdhibbs said. You are welcome to follow me to the range some time if you wish. I found the best price on smoke poles at muzzle-loaders.com. Cheap price and no tax. Add it all up and you will save $$$.

The December issue of Deer and Deer Hunting magazine has a very comprehensive article by Toby Bridges on muzzleloading techniques that is must reading for everyone who has a serious interest in the sport. He's been at it a long time and maintains a web page with articles and information on muzzleloading. He was a big help to me when I started with inlines 10 years ago and continues to do so today.

If you are really interested in learning the basics and getting into muzzleloading, you might think about checking into the Dallas Muzzleloader club. They have a monthly meeting in Dallas, and a monthly shooting match in Tool, at their own range. You will meet a lot of friendly guys willing to pass on their knowledge.

Muzzleloadingforum.com
Only for traditional percussion or flintlock. Many old timers in that forum. They do not talk about inline though.
I've got two 54 cal percussion.

Well if you are ever down in the West Houston area, we could meet at the rifle range and I could give you a lesson with my T/C Renegade muzzleloader.
