Ya'll have a good opening weekend this weekend! I won't be able to get into the stand this weekend, so I'm jealous. Be safe and get a big'un!

I would hunt but had eye surgery and still on restrictions but hey perhaps I will see better in the future for having the surgery, at least the eye isn't hurting now.

Good luck to all that are hunting may you get a shot and it be true leading to a short productive blood trail.

Took my daughter out this weekend
1st morning she downed a pig
2nd morning ,non vital shot on 10 pointer
She Was completely sickened that she missed the spot
I tried to give her encouragement and told it is a learning experience
I’ll try to post a pic to see what everyone thinks, but I think the deer should be ok

Hope I am wrong but that looks like it might have gotten the small intestine. If it did that could take a while to be fatal. It could be laid up somewhere within a couple hundred yards, if there is a tank near by that would be a good place to check.

You may be correct. I hope this one makes it but if not, it will be tough to find. No blood trail at all after the shot. Might have to keep an eye for buzzards next week or two.
