New strings in the works!

I cuss people that wait till last moment prepping for hunting season now I have to humble myself because I am one of them! Noticed some questionionable serving on my bow so they both are at Korbins Archery for new strings! The Ice Man strings have been great and number of years old and the factory strings on Carbon Knight and getting upgraded! If I ever start giving grief about procrastination someone remind me of this moment.

Lots of people do things like that every year. I know not how many servings I have replced just before or during season to get by until new strings arrived.

I know what you mean. I bought a back up bow over a year ago. During that time, I picked up all the accessories that I found on sale or on clearance except a arrow rest. Well, I finally scored on a drop away in the classifieds. Got my hands on it about 2 weeks ago. The first chance I got to go to the shop to get it installed, it was two days before opening day and the place was packed. I told the guy IF he had time, this is what I needed. He made time for it, but if he didn't, it wouldn't be a big deal since my main bow is good to go. But while I was there watching all the stuff these other guys were needing done, all I could do was shake my head.

It helps to have a back up bow. Its hard to find time to get a bow rigged up at the last min. Bow shops this time of year are crazy busy.

This time next year I plan to have a press and hope to learn enough on how to use it.

I do shoot through the year so at least it was getting used to wear the strings down! It's those folks that drag it out week before season and think they will be in tune are the ones that get me. Muscle memory is part of archery! 30-50 arrows a week during summer is good but last few weeks before opener needs to be same number daily...along with bow inspection and equipment checks. Lets not even imagine the gun hunters routine! I know it's hard to make time and resources to stay in tune with either or both but doesn't the game deserve or the cost of hunt warrant it?
