Bow stand

Looking for a inexpensive stand for daughter an I 2 person finally got her set up with her bow I use a single // thoughts on a double that will be good for her Thanks in advance

It all depends on the type of area your hunting. Are trees large enough and straight enough to place a ladder or lock on style stand? For ladder stands, Dicks Sporting Goods 15’ Outpost stands are hard to beat for their stability and price. $79
Without good trees, you will need a tripod stand or ground blind. Academy Sports makes a very nice single tripod stand by Game Winner for $139.

Hard to beat the Primos double bull for a 2 person ground blind. I believe a few have used the rhino but haven’t personally and haven’t heard anything in awhile.

For a beginner, the concealment that the ground blind would provide would be great way to start her. Good luck

Whats the average weight on those ladder tree stands?

I've never owned a tree stand before and have been debating to get one for quite a while.
One of the main reasons is that I prefer going in woods with as little as possible. I hunt public lands only, so I can't leave it in the woods. There's really only 1 public land that I know of where a climbing stand is an option.

I use the same and elevate them 6-8 ft in the air on a platform. It’s a game changer.

The ones i’ve used weighted 50-60lbs. 15-16ft tall at the seat.

I am not a big fan of ladder stands. Generally too low to the ground and really not easy to draw back on while you are in the stand.

If you want to hunt in pairs, I suggest going with two hang on stands. The best set up (and great for filming a hunt) is to hang one stand slightly off about 20 degrees and a little higher than the one that the hunter will be in. You can get some great pictures / video that way and you can hang them up high enough that slight movement won't scare the deer off. Remember - the hardest thing for a young bow hunter to do is to draw back without being busted. Getting them up high (25-30') is the best and easiest way to ensure their success.

Remember - always use a harness for BOTH of you and better yet, use the harness with a life line so that you are tied off from the moment you leave the ground. There are life lines made with TWO prosaic knots for a pair of hunters.

ladder stands are great if you own or lease your hunting property. You are better off with a pop up. Try to put it up with as much natural camouflage as possible. i.e. under a cedar tree, back in a brush pile, etc. In my experience, a new pop up that was not there yesterday will spook the deer just as much as you standing there in the open.
