How do you figure out the value of a used bow? - 09/13/17 11:26 PM
My wife surprised me with a new bow last night
I have a 2010 or a 2011 diamond iceman left handed that I'm gonna consider selling. Bow is great, not one single complaint about it and it has served me faithfully for several years. Had my first bow kill with this bow
Anyway, what would be a value on it? It retailed $850 new

Do you have to sell it? I know its a more sought after midgrade bow but you are going to have to find that perfect buyer. I would guess its worth about $300-$350. May not be worth it to sell. So what did you get?

I wish I would have kept my old bow when I got my newest one. I actually shot the old bow a lot better at long distance.

I would venture to say it's more valuable to you than what someone else will give you for it. But the longer you hold onto it the less chance you will have to sell it.

More valuable to use as a backup. I kept my matthews for a backup when I bought my elite.

I would keep it both for a backup and because you killed your first deer with it. Wish I had the one I killed my first one with.
I would say somewhere in the $300 range if you sell. Maybe $50 more if you include sight, stabilizer, and other accessories if you aren't putting them on your new bow. That's just a guess.

I would keep it.
I've still got my first recurve I bought 47 years ago. I then went through several compounds, a crossbow, and now I've gone back to the recurve the last two years.
Maybe it just took me this long to learn how to shoot it correctly, but it seems to be more accurate now than back when I first got it.

Take my word for it, but once you get old and remember the good times and success you had with that old bow, it is priceless!

You can list it on Archery Talk classifieds. If it is priced right it will sell.
