Shot slick tricks for a couple years, last year I was in need for some broad heads and couldn't find them anywhere so I bought a few packs of rage. I've never been a fan of mechanicals but I didn't really have a choice. Well today I threw them all out, really don't like how they open up all the time when I don't want them to, like when I put them in my quiver or if I bump them on a limb ect. And I just don't trust them or any mechanical 100%. Last time I bought slick tricks I was paying 22.99-25.99 for a pack... Wtf happened, 39.99 now a pack? It's been a little over a year since I bought them, but geez. Even prices online were that high. I ended up deciding to go back to the original muzzy 3 blade. Never had any problems with those.

I've had excellent luck with the rage extreme. Never any issues and leaves a massive blood trail. But to each their own. Some people like ford's and some Chevys.

Do what I do and never be without again.
Wal mart sells Muzzy's. They go on clearance sale about Dec. I can usually get a pack of 3 for about $18. Then I just put them up and pull'em out when needed.
If your local wally world doesn't have a whole lot, take a pack or 2 and hide them somewhere in the store and wait till you see all the archery stuff start going on clearance!!! wink

My dad shoots them and I know lots of people that have good results, I've even killed animals with them, it's just a mental thing that I can't get passed. I feel like the one time it will fail is on the biggest deer of my life. I know a fixed blade will always work.

Personal preference! I know it's all about shoot placement, for me Rage are awesome, huge blood trail. I've shot most, Slick Trick flys true but to small cutting diameter, Muzzy hard to tune, no margin for error on setup, Grim Reaper soft aluminum blades, Swacker's are my second choice behind Rage, G5 has both good machaincal and fixed.

Dogdown23 your correct some drive a Ford some a Chevy it's all about comfort....Rage make me Comfortable...

Slick tricks have been my favorite that I've ever shot. I used the 100 grain 4 blade magnums. They flew identical to a field point even at 40-50 yards, and I killed a lot of animals with them, even my nilgia only ran about 50 yards. That much of a price increase is insane though.

I just see it as the part of the hunt that is all business. If there is one place Im not going to go cheap it is on my broadhead. I have been shooting STs for many years and they have yet to let me down. If I have to spend $10 per broadhead instead of $6 then so be it.
