Better than zebra string?

is there a better string than zebra? could you provide a link

is there a way to get old new stock? i have a 99 mathews, it supposedly had the original string on it when i got it. so i am thinking thats probably the best route. so these links so far say to change em every 2 years.

depends on how much you shoot.
some will change theirs more often because they shoot every day or are in a lot of tournaments. the average hunter will change them every 3 - 5 years. Maintenance on strings is also a factor in string life.
The chance of getting original strings in good condition from a 99 Mathews is next to impossible. your best bet is to have after stock strings made unless you call zebra and have them make you a set for your Mathews.

Five years ago when I was on shooting a lot of competition I would chance strings and cables three times a year on each bow, normally I would keep them on hand and change them out myself. I was always blessed to have so many sponsors and most of my equipment was free (Bucknasty was my string sponsor). I will never shoot stock strings on a bow, even when I was shooting for Bowtech that's the first thing I do is change them out, that's one reason Matthews IBO is so high is because those thin Zebra strings. Get a hold of a good string maker and have him make you some good strings. Even if you don't shoot a lot a string will have a tendency of drying out, and 14 years is too long brother, I'd be afraid of shooting that bow.

well i had it changed a few years ago...but its fraying already and im thinkin i got shafted on my last string replacement. so looking for a cure...
i did shoot the crap outta it before and after restringing it. maybe the guy before me just never used it as much?

If it's fraying it needs replacing. I've had bows expode in my face because a string or cable broke; it's sure not any fun.

I heard that winner's choice is a very good brand and have not yet tried them. Had bad luck with a couple sets of strings on my bowtech and the strings were octane

interesting, I have a brand new bow but am shooting probably 250 arrows per week, was wondering at what point to swap them out. Probably give them a couple months and about a month or so out from my hunt change to some custom strings. I hear good thinkgss about Hoyt strings though.

I was sponsored by Bowtech and worked the shooting trailer at shows, I love Bowtech and their staff. I used to get three bows a year from Bowtech, as soon as I got a new bow the strings were changed. Personally I don't like any factory strings. There are a lot of good string makers out there, Korbin has to be my first choice. Great guy to deal with.
