You could buy a nice bare bow and put what u want on it plus get some arrows for that price

I am biased, but IMHO the Bowtech Assassin is the best package bow, ever. I had an almost unlimited budget the last time I upgraded my bow and to my shock that is the one I walked out of RBO with. I shot everything I could get my hands on and narrowed it down to the Assassin and the Mathews Monster, and could not justify spending more money on the Monster as I didn't feel like it shot any better.

I havent had much experience with Bowtech but I do hear they are great bows. Anyone had any experience with the Diamonds or the PSE's?

I dont think the words "best bow package" actually go together.

THen you have never shot the Assassin. I was honestly expecting to buy a Helim or Invasion during my last bow purchase. I hated the Helim from first draw the invasion was nice, but I fould I liked the Mathews Monster better. Then I shot the assassin, and could not tell a enough of a difference between it and the monster to justify buying the monster. Plus the Assassin was faster, turning 297 fps with a 385 gr Arrow on a 62# draw.

With that said, there is not one piece of package equipment left on it. I even shoot local 3D tournaments with it.

I was new to bow hunting this past season and visited with Jerry at RBO to get a new setup. Budget was $1,000 for a ready to shoot bow. Walked out with the Assassin and couldn't be happier. Give it a try.

I would say best bet is to try and get a high end bow that feels nice in your hands and look for a used one that someone is trying to sell. Lots of them can be found online as many guys out there like to buy new stuff just cuz. really good deals are found when someone is trying to upgrade or just get the new stuff. I have a few buddies looking to sell some great equipment.

If not then the bowtech or diamond (which is made by bowtech) sells some great packages.

There is a 2011 Assassin in the classifieds right now for $550. Good deal if you are just starting out.

Another vote for the Assassin.

Another Assassin vote here. Took it out of the case the day before yesterdat because I've neglected it since the end of bow season and flung a couple arrows to show a buddy of mine and I forgot how smooth, quiet, fast, and accurate these thing are.

Some good bows that will not brake the bank and still leave you room for accessories.

1. Mission Ballistic
2. Pse Drive
3. Hoyt Charger
4. Bowtech Assasin
5. Mission Voyager XT

All quality bows that would work out for you.

Just recently shot the Charger, it was not what I was looking at but since I had the opportunity I checked it out. Nice bow for the price range and I personally don't like the packages because I enjoy building my guns/bows, just part of the fun for me personally.
