Recommendations for 1913 Rail Folding Stocks - 05/08/23 07:04 PM
So, I converted my 10.5" 5.56 AR into a PSA long stroke piston JAKL and also bought one of their 8" 300BLK JAKLs and SBR'd it too.
Shot show 23 PSA had their "ACRish" folding stock on display and said it would be out very shortly. I'd really like to get a Magpul ACR stock and adapter, but since Magpul discontinued it, they're crazy expensive. I've seen some on Gunbroker for up to $1,000 just for the stock plus another $250+ for the side folding adaptor, which are also discontinued.
So now I have 2 SBR's sitting with no stocks...
Anyone know of any they'd recommend?
All of them I've seen are insanely expensive and I don't understand it. I guess because they're not mass produced and more of a niche item, but dang kind of hard to swallow $400+ for a simple stock.
I've found 2 that I really like, but one is $375 (B&T MBT Stock & Haga Defense Adapter) and the other is $399 (F5 MSS), I'm not really wanting to drop $800 on 2 stocks.
I've kind of narrowed it down to the following
JMac Customs SS-8 $300
A3 Tactical Modular Folding Stock $280
Magpul Zhukov with Haga Defense 1913 adaptor $215
Am I missing any for around the $300 price range? Preferable even cheaper would be nice LOL. Thanks

Yea I like that and MI has one like it but seems like cheek weld would be too low.
This is what I’m really wanting, but don’t think I’ll find.

Buy once, cry once
Lol if I were just one I’d probably do it but can’t justify 2 of them.

Think I’ve found a good candidate. Midwest Industries makes some pretty good stuff in my experience, found them for $150 each shipped. Throw a little Cerakote on them to match and I’ll be tacticool AF.

Did a little photoshopping this morning. Think I'll be going with the MI.

Gotta do it for the GRAM!
Truthfully I can't stand social media, I think it is a cancer. THF is about as close as I get to social media.

Social media IS a cancer! It is teaching our young ones and many others that it is OK to lie and/or misrepresent to get the desired result. No wonder so many young adults are confused! The internet powers should be banning all those that constantly misrepresent but they won’t, too much money to be made.

I had the Midwest industries brace on my Jakl and it was great. Very sturdy and no wiggle. Had a tailhook on it. I went to the F5 stock and it came with the mounting adapter to replace the pic rail one from PSA. It was $399 and I found a coupon code that got it down to under $400 after tax and shipping.

I’ve heard nothing but horror stories about F5.
That’s what I was going to go with. They were on sale for $299 each. But I missed that and now they’re $399 each. With all the stuff I’ve read about them I decided not to buy $800 in stocks from them.
I did order then MI Stocks today.

I think F5 had problems with the early ones but the one I got seems to be well made. It’s not a duty gun so it won’t be abused. You can’t go wrong with the MI, it’s a great product and the price is considerably lower than the competition. I’m sure you’ll be happy with it. I wanted a cheap scar replica which is why I got the F5

Completely out of place on an AR, but JTAC Industries is worth mentioning for future searches. I found their screech owl chassis most excellent, and they're a great company to do business with.

Thanks, I like that stock a lot. A bit long for what I'm looking for on this build though.

JTAC 1913 Folding StockThanks, never heard of them and that screech owl chassis looks awesome. Would be awesome on a little 16" 300LBK with that telestock. Nice price too.

This is exactly the reason I bought the JAKL was a cheap mini scar replica.

They are most well known for the howa mini action chassis. The 700 size chassis is the one I had, ended up buying it because that telestock has a really short LOP in the first position that was perfect for a thermal. The telestock is really solid, and has a really good adjustable cheekpiece for such a minimalist setup. 10/10 would recommend. I think they're also offering a new rail with integrated arca, which is ideal. Originally wanted to support Black Collar Arms as a Tx company, but they never had anything available other than cool pictures to look at.
