That’s slicker than possum scat. I’m gonna have to pick one up when they hit the streets

Bullpups are uglier than homemade soap.

But if a short "16" barreled) rifle is your bag, it mechanically makes sense.

I've actually never shot a bullpup style rifle. Although I really like the idea of them and understand the benefits, but I have a prejudice against them from my computer gaming days. Totally unfair and unrelated but I hated the Steyr aug on counter strike. hard pass for me.

Ian McCollum seems to have nothing but praise for it, definitely intriguing. Used by some militaries that actually see or very soon may see some heavy combat.

I Love the Dessert Tech Bull Pups but they are bolt guns, very accurate.

Hopefully they don’t take 5 years to come out with a 308.

Dang, that's probably the only bullpup I've seen that I would consider. Hopefully street prices isn't that much though.

Very interesting. I am a fan of bullpups. I've had the Kel Tec RFB and still have a RDB.

Oh lord...more tacticool crap for overweight guys that think they're gonna be clearing rooms with a rifle.

Hahaha best response so far.

I love me some 8" height over bore mechanical offset. My neighbors will think I'm crypto mining but I'll just be using their combined processing power of a bunch of old windows PC's to figure out my holds from 25-200 yards.

I had the opposite experience. Die Hard made me love the AUG. I’m not a bull pup guy but I do own one.

I clear rooms every time we come home. You never know who may have come into your house while you were gone. I usually kill the power and go NV.

Someone get Grand Master Jay, he knows all about bullpups!

Re: New Rifle from Springfield - 01/15/22 03:47 PM

I remember way back when hunters were interested in bolt action bullpup's. They were cool looking but not so cool with the action right up against your face when they went off. A few gunsmiths specialized in making them. Trigger linkage, scope mounts & magazine function were tricky. I guess the only BPs of interest these days are military style semi-auto rifles.

Or if you just use it the way it’s meant to, all that extra height over bore just makes it easier to hit a man anywhere in the torso from longer distance. More than 300 yards “point blank range” lol. 25m zero probably has you missing high at 200 though

Not a bad looking rifle. I’d be in for one in 9mm or 45.

I thought it looked like an upgraded French FAMAS rifle. Be interested to read how it performs.

Awesome dude, god on you. smile Honestly, the Steyr Aug in real life is a cool weapon but just lots other higher priorities on my wishlist list.

Tangent: I got into shooting because of counter strike. A long term gun-life goal is own all the handguns on counter strike 1.6; 50 cal dessert eagle, 9mm glock (go one bc of game), 45 usp (got a can already for it), Sig 357 sig, fn 57, beretta 92, etc. Some like the 92 I know I already hate but want just complete a collection.

Re: New Rifle from Springfield - 01/17/22 10:04 PM

I bought one of these little fellers in 410 bore a couple of years ago. Butt-ugly, but it's about as much fun as you can have with your clothes on. I had to buy a reloader for it to keep it from breaking the bank, but with my MEC, I can keep up with its consumption, even when the grandkids (and their parents) are going full throttle with it.
