.22 threaded pistol

.22 threaded pistol - 09/16/21 02:44 AM

Got a new can and a new Bergara BXR to put it on. Any recommendations for a handgun to put the can on for fun that would be able to handle subsonic ammo through. Specifically the CCI suppressor ammo 970 FPS, since that is what I have for the Bergara.

Any other subsonic recommendations on ammo for the Bergara would be appreciated.

I have several threaded .22's. Personally I like the Browning Buckmark and S&W Compact.

I have a few and most of them are not very good at cycling with subsonic 22 ammo with a can. Amongst what I have, the Ruger 22/45 does the best with cycling the most various types of ammo with a can.

I have one of the GSG 1911-22's and it has the magnesium slide on it. It cycles pretty much everything. I used it as a prop in our last 22 match suppressed and it ran flawlessly. Everyone wanted to shoot that stage again.

Very nice full size with same ergos as a true 1911, just way lighter. I did have to get an adapter for it to make it threaded, but it wasn't very expensive.

How many rounds does the mag hold, Kyle?

10, wish it would hold more because 10 rounds goes by really fast haha. It is a joy to shoot. [Linked Image]

My Buckmark won’t cycle CCI subsonic but is pretty quiet with CCI standard.

Have an older Ruger Mark IV I haven't touched in a while - anyone ever had the barrel threaded on one of these?

I love mine but it won't cycle sub ammo. It may with a suppressor though. I don't have one.

They have some “Colt” ones out there that do have rails. Pretty sure they’re still made by GSG in Germany. But you can see the sights just fine. 22 can barely comes above the slide.

Everything doesn’t have to be top of the line, Buzz, mine is not ‘competition’ and it’s still a dandy! Accurate, good trigger, very light.

Yes it does. That way he can spend more buying it, and lose more selling it.

I put a packite upper on my ruger mkii. 4" barrel. It's great. Also, all the bulk ammo stays subsonic in the short barrel and cycles fine. Save your subs for the bergara and just shoot whatever you can find in the pistol.

Also, I'm not impressed with the mk4, and it's stupid expensive. I'd get a buckmark instead if I was buying new.

Picked up a Browning Buck Mark (suppressor-ready) this morning, $404 out the door. Stopped by the range after and it functions great.

Next trip will be accuracy testing with and without my YHM Stinger.

Ruger Mark II owner for decades. Picked up a new threaded Taurus T22 earlier this year and am blown away. High capacity, smooth and so accurate.

Re: .22 threaded pistol - 09/18/21 12:28 AM

I have two 22/45 Mk IIIs that are threaded, along with a Ruger SR-22 and two Taurus TX-22s (standard and competition).

They all work well, and are just as accurate as I am. smile ani
