6mm BR is coming !!

After a year of waiting, my gunsmith calls and says my 6 BR is ready to be shipped.
Can't wait and ordering some 105 / 107 grain bullets and powder. The gunsmith had put a 1 in 8 twist 26 inch Bartlien heavy barrel on a custom Remington 700 action, McMillian A5 stock with cheekriser, Jewel trigger with 16 oz break, pillar bedded, with a 20 minute base rail and a rail for the forearm for an Atlas bipod. I'll be adding a NightForce ATAR 5.5-25

Does anyone recommend a great powder for the 6BR? I have used AA-2015 and BenchMark in the past using the 68-70 grain bullets with the 1-13 twist, but this time I'll be using the heavies in the new 1 in 8 twist.

I would try Varget looking at this LINK.

Varget and 8208-XBR is where I would start.

Judd uses Varget in his Dashers I recall and would probably use the same in the 6 BR. I'm using 105 Hybrids in my Dasher. Awesome little cartridge.

Been using H322 in my BR’s but I don’t use the heavy bullets. Mine has a 10 twist Shilen 24”

Mine ended up liking IMR 4166 Enduron with 105VLD’s
Been meaning to try ARComp but too busy playing with other stuff.

All I shoot are heavies and a steady diet of hybrids mainly...although 108’s are pretty impressive too. Anyway, the 6br load is 30 grains of Varget and if it won’t shoot that you’ve got a tough one. H4895, ARComp, 4166, 8208, RL15 are all good powders that will work in a 6br but most folks are going to use Varget.

Very nice! What bottom metal is that?

The reason I ask is that I have a short action Remington action that currently has a .223 bolt face bolt, but I have a line on a decent priced .308 bolt face bolt and am considering building a 6BR instead of a 6X45. If I go the BR route, I would need to also get new bottom metal and I would want a mag that feeds reliably as the goal is a lightweight short range hunting rifle.
