Silencerco ASR Muzzle Brake affecting zero

Just curious if anyone has had any issues with your rifles holding zero with this Muzzle Brake? I'm in the process of going through the process of elimination of all the other possibilities but my best group so far has been with handloads of about 2" @ 100 yds. Yes I know there is a laundry list of possibilities as to the reasoning for this and in time I'm going to work it out but just curious if anyone has experienced any known issues directly related to the Silencerco ASR Muzzle Brake?

Both my .223 Wylde and 6.8 wear the brake. I have never fired either without the corresponding Omega on top of the brake, but both rifles hold zero and both group under .75".

If you think the brake is a problem take it off and shoot the weapon.

Were the loads developed with the brake on?

This is my first question too. Adding anything to your muzzle changes your barrel harmonics.

My Thunderbeast break is timed. Might be the issue if this needs to be timed correctly.

I have seen muzzle breaks effect accuracy twice so it can happen. I have one muzzle break on a competition AR that you can tune by plugging vents. I was trying to get minimal noise and once I plugged one too many vents Accuracy went really bad.... unplugged two holes groups back to normal.

Can it effect POI. Yes. Is it likely, most likely not. I'll be honest, I need more info on what rifle and barrel contour this is on and what caliber you are shooting. 2" groups at 100 is a little big for determining a slight POI shift. I'm also assuming you are not shooting these suppressed?

If the rifle has a really thin, long barrel, then a POI shift is more likely. If it's a short and fat contoured barrel, the POI shift should be nothing or minimal.

I have ASR breaks and flash hiders on all of my rifles. My Omega gets around, if you know what I mean ;-). The only rifle I had any trouble with was my 18" 6.5CM bolt gun. Everything shot the same, no POI shift at all, except with my 140gr A-Max load. All of my other 140gr bullets held exactly the same. And the A-Maxes stayed the same with my other 6.5CM rifle. But, with the short rifle, it opened up to a 4" group. I sped the load up some and it helped some. But, I mostly just avoid these bullets with this rifle. SST's and Hornady HP Match bullets are all I load anymore, because of this issue. Try another bullet. I hope this helps.
