Looking to buy either Benelli Venci or A300.. Anyone shoot either of these and have issues with them

Gas VS Inertia?

Both feel good to shoulder just trying to hear what the forum says

After having a SBE for years I really like the feel and reduced recoil of the A400

I haven't shot a vinci but it looks like an interesting design. I like the stock.

I have owned both and sold them. It had nothing to do with quality, Berettas and Benellis have combs that are too high for me, even with shims, and I foolishly thought I could adjust to them.

I was working at Cabela’s when I purchased them so they were acquired through dealer programs. I paid around $850.00 for the Vinci, I don’t know that I’d have paid full retail. Benellis are excellent shotguns but I feel they are overpriced. I really liked the Vinci and would have kept it if I shot it well.

The A300 is priced where it should be IMO. It is a great bang for the buck. I’d have kept it too if it had fit.

I believe the supposed reliability advantage inertia guns have over gas guns is vastly over-rated. If heavy recoiling loads are on the menu I’ll always take a gas gun over inertia. I own two Affinity’s that I shoot extremely well but if I were going to have one shotgun for dove to ducks it would be gas operated.

Which one do you shoulder well?

Have two A300. Never a problem with either.

Shoulder both good, they fill great. Going to shoot both this weekend. Just wanted to see if anybody had issues

Same here Boo. I was a sales rep for Benelli in the 90s and couldn’t hit with one. You really have to float your target on top off the B.B. sight to hit it. As a kid that grew up shooting an 1100 I never could adjust.

For whatever reason the M2 20 gauge has a different DAH and DAC than the Vinci, SBE II, and 12 gauge M2. It is identical to some shotguns I own and shoot very well. Someday I’ll get a 20 gauge M2.

Back in 2000 I bought an M1 Super 90 and fell in love with it. It fits me like a glove and I’ve never had an issue. Was out working dogs with live quail few years back and the trainer had the Venci. He wanted me to shoot the quail when they were released while he handled the dogs. Hated it...couldn’t hit my arse with both hands with that gun. Totally different fit and feel than my sweet little M1...I’ll never buy another auto shotgun.

I would stay away from the Vinci... for the money, you'd be better off to find a used SBE II. If you spend time looking at used shotguns... the Vinci's just don't move that well. The SBE for me shoulders much better when I hunt, while the Beretta is fine with sporting clays.

You should also look at a M2 in 12 gauge if you can live with 3" and not have to go to the 3-1/2".

be careful of the m2 20, the loading port is narrow and gives my thumb blisters. I love to shoot it. I bought it for my wife and she cant load it very well. Thumb gets caught in the latch. Thats probly more her fault than anything. She's threatening to sell it. i would keep it but no one has given me the warm and fuzzies that they could widen the loading port properly, so I'm SOL

Love our M2 20... shoulders well and has no issues. Haven't had any issues with the magazine loading unless I don't fully seat the shell and lock it.

Just put a slammer bolt release button on it and it's even better.

As you have learned by reading this post, nobody but you can decide which one to buy. Both your choices are outstanding guns. My choice is the Benelli, they just fit me. I shoulder the gun and I'm looking straight down the rib.

The comb on the Berettas are always too high for me, I see way too much rib. I'm sure This could be fixed with the shims but I'm on my third Super Black Eagle, had the I, II and now III. I love it, patterned it and it shoots just where I like it.

The Vinci is a great gun also, if it fits you buy it. I shot in a Sporting Clays League with a guy who had one. I shot it and liked it. I will admit the "look" is different but the effectiveness is spot on.

I had an M2 in 20 gauge with a 20" barrel. I loved it but I decided not to shoot 3 gun and sold it. It was a VERY quick gun in the field.
