New Lubbock range/store - 02/26/18 02:05 AM
FYI for the Lubbock area folks. There’s a new place in town called Lone Star Shooting Sports that just opened and looks pretty good. They opened 2 weeks ago and I went in Friday to check it out and was very impressed.
Their inventory isn’t much right now because they just opened and the guy that gave us a tour said they aren’t doing any advertising or anything yet while they get inventory in and everything figured out but plan to do the grand opening next month.
What is awesome though is it’s a massive place with multiple classrooms and ranges inside. They plan to do classes from LTC to all levels of gun and situation training to medical classes. The ranges are 25 yd where you can shoot up to 308. There are 20 something lanes total. One half is a programmable range where they can set up programs for training or added fun. The one he showed us dimmed all the lights and flashed red and blues above you while the target went to different distances and spun around randomly so you had to wait to figure out when to shoot.
Also they rent handguns and a couple of fully autos to shoot in the range.
He said that they want to compete with places like 4ore golf and main event as a event center and try to show non gun people that shooting is fun and change their minds.
Overall I was very impressed with the place and the people I talked to so anyone in the area may want to check it out. Much better than the other options we have from my intitial impressions.
