Mine will be complete when the mail runs tomorrow. Who else has one, and what have y'all been loading? Bullets, powders, velocities? Anyone shot a mile with one?

Mine liked retumbo and 129 accuebonds. It was a very hard round to work up. I have moved on to the 28 nosler now. I’m really loving that one.

Don't have one- I'm running a 6.5x284-- with that big case Id see how fast you can push a 147 ELDM. My reloading books don't have data but I bet a slow burner like H1000, Retumbo or RL33 will do the trick.

I hope you find a load quick, otherwise the barrel will be toast before you get to use it much wink

I'm about to do a ladder test with US 869 and 140 berger VLDs - prior to working this up I shot the factory 140 accubonds. Was getting around 3250 out of the muzzle. Farthest I've shot for now is 521. I've got about 100 factory rounds through it. I've shot several twofers on pigs, they all drop right where they were shot. All of the whitetail I've shot have run between 20 and 200 yards; hoping the VLD's change that. All in all I'm a big fan of the round; we'll see how long the barrel lasts...

US869 is supposed to be the best powder for velocity. I'm gonna try 147 ELDs first and see if they'll stabilize in my 8.7 twist barrel. I have some 140 Accubonds for hunting too. If I can get the 147s to 3200fps, they'll stay supersonic over 2000 yards. That's my goal with this rifle, until I smoke the barrel and chamber a new one for 33 Nosler.

bump - so far the x bolt I have is not a fan of the berger 140 vld's with us869. Going to try some 143 eldx next...Did you ever get any loads worked up?

Just an FYI factory chambers are very hit and miss with vld type pills.

If you can launch the 147 over 3150 fps, you "should" be good. I've seen other calibers on "paper" calculating stability be ok, and in the field not work. Give it a whirl!
