Any Mauser/Luger P08 WW2 gun experts? - 02/01/18 11:05 PM

My brother and I were recently given a pistol that was our great great grandfathers.

Has 1939 stamped on the top of the action close to the barrel. 3946 stamped under the barrel. 46 stamped on pretty much every other piece of metal.

It has 3 german eagle symbols stamped on the right side of the action with the number 63 under the first eagle. Has one magazine (no numbers on the magazine that I can find)

Holster is black leather, has the letters JVf with 1941 under it, directly to the right of that has an eagle with WaA204, then to the right of that is P.08.

Can anyone tell me any information on this? I don't want to sell it... just curious of the history if any.

Near the safety it says Gesichert, which I assumes means "safety" in German.

Sounds like you have a Luger (Mauser P-08 model) with mostly, or all, matching serial numbers.

Gesichert = 'Secured'
