Any info on Palmetto State Armory? - 01/29/18 01:33 PM

Looking at getting the PSA Gen 2 PA10 18" Mid Length .308 SS win Loc from their website. ($699 right now). was just wondering if anyone has used them before.
Seem to be very well priced but was wondering the quality of the guns? I know..."you get what you pay for"..right?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Here is a recent thread where PSA was mentioned.

I don't need to buy one, but I would like to develop a hand load for one, just to see what it can do.

I had one and I shot about 1 1/2 MOA with it, which is about as good as I shoot with any rifle. I also have a PSA .223 and it shoots 1 1/2 MOA or better.

I also have a PSA .223 upper and am very happy with it.

Talk about irony. FD brother called this morning. He will have in hand a PSA .308 IN March, and I offered to develop a load for it. I'll report what I find.

I have a PSA Ar-15 or 2, no complaints. I usually buy the blemished or daily deal products. Do they group really well? Don't know really, but with milspec triggers and 5.56 chambers shooting .223 ammo I get minute of coyote no problem. Zero reliability issues so far. Have enough faith in them that usually have one somewhere around for home defense type duty.

Buddy of mine just got one of their AR-10's and we took it out to the lease. Went bang everytime, shot well enough with a photon xt 4.6 on top. He got the lower with EPT trigger, I would suggest that if you get one, definitely better than milspec trigger.

I have a PSA lower for my Grendel. Just put a Velocity 3lb single stage in it. Went from around 8 to around 3 lbs. Loving it so far.
The PSA lower seems as solid as any other lower out there but I'm not a big AR guy.

Thanks everyone!! Seems like a decent company/rifle. And the price is right. Gonna do a little more research on this and possibly get one ordered here soon!

I think I would probably switch out the trigger as well.

I will probably just be shooting hogs once or twice a year with it and put my Photon Xt on it as well. And of course do some plinking around with it.

Thanks everyone for the input.

Hogz, if you do go the PSA route will you post a review?

If I was going to buy a 308 gas gun, it would be a PSA with a trigger upgrade.

I have got a PSA 7mm08 that shoots about 1.5 moa with Remington Core-Lokt 140 grain. One day I will do some hand load workups on it if I ever get around to it. I have been thinking about putting a Photon Xt as well

I have put a couple of the EPT triggers in my AR15's and they have both been great.
No grit, no takeup and they break good with a good reset and a smooth approx 5 pound pull. Going to put them in both of my sons AR's when they go back on sale for $29.95.

Be aware that PA10 uppers will only fit PA10 lowers. So if you are the type that likes to have multiple uppers to swap to a single lower, you will only be able to use PSA uppers on it. AR10 and LR308 uppers will not fit.

Save money by buying the upper and lower separately.
