Tikka rimfire

Tikka rimfire - 01/05/18 01:38 PM

Anyone seen the rumors about this new T1x rimfire?

I just spent about $400 making my 10/22 accurate enough for me and adjustable enough for my daughter. If this is as good as everything else Tikka makes, I'm gonna be ticked about having spent all that. Looks like a pretty sweet setup.

I wonder how well they are gonna sell @ $500

The CZ rimfires sell quite great and are priced in that range. And, MSRP is always higher than retail.

How many products do you know of that sell at MSRP?

Looks like they're going to retail around $450, and I think they'll sell as many as they can build if you ask me. People spend upwards of $1k to trick out a 10/22. You think a $450 price tag is going to hold people up? Adjustable length stock, pistol grip optional, semi-heavy barrel, great trigger, likely going to be super-accurate with good magazine feeding. I don't see how they'd have any issue at that price.

I want a bolt .22. I wouldn’t blink at $400

I've been putting a lot of thought into the Ruger Precision Rifle - Rimfire. This Tikka gives it some competition, although I like the adjustable LOP for my son in the RPR-R.

I’ve been sniffing around RAR rimfires, but hadn’t bought one yet. If this Tikka RF is priced like ya’ll say, I WILL have one.

Right now the only bolt action rf I have is my Grandpa’ Stevens that I learned to shoot on. So old that it has neither a model number or serial number on it. Very accurate, though over a century old, but I can’t put a scope on it.

Would love to see a picture of it.

First I'm hearing about this. Even at $500 with a heavy barrel it's a no-brainer. Cool stuff.

$420

I went by Cabela’s an hour ago and they didn’t have any and didn’t know when they would. He did have a RAR RF for about $300 or so. I liked it a lot and would have bought it, but I want to handle the Tikka first.

I sure wish they'd make it in a 17 wsm. I'd be in line quick!

You can pre-order them at Whittakers, for April delivery.

I'll probably be in for a 17HMR. Wonder if a SS model is in the works?

What ! No left hand model? I was hoping for a good 22 trainer. I guess I'll have to go with the CZ.

Cattle,
It is a bummer, but I love my CZ lefty 17hmr and 22lr.

Re: Tikka rimfire - 01/08/18 02:49 AM

That is a bummer that it isn't offered in LH. It's probably a matter of when, not if.

I bought a CZ 17HMR once and it wouldn't shoot worth a carp. Never going that route again. If this Tikka shoots as good as its centerfire bretheren, then it'll be king of the rimfire world in no time.

Load development for my Tikka CTR 6.5 Creedmoor below on yesterday's range trip. Everything is 3-shot groups. "Sight" is 41.5 grains, so I didn't see the need to re-shoot the load after fouling the barrel. There just aren't many factory guns that can offer this sort of performance.

Re: Tikka rimfire - 01/08/18 08:32 PM

Probably zero likelihood of it, but it would be awesome if it had the same footprint at a normal t3 so you could swap stocks and have a cheap trainer.
