Latest THF hunting drama - 12/11/17 06:50 PM

I'm going to start shooting deer with a rusty barreled, 50 BMG (to suck the eye balls out of a deer's head), mount a cheap scope that has moa turrets and mil reticle with some quality rear windage screw bases all while hunting at my lost deer lease with a heater in my stand. Oh, and a maxi pad as a recoil cushion with a round of man hugs after for celebration! That's how we roll!

As long as it's behind a high fence. Be sure and take a beer with you to the stand. Don't forget, you must be able to clean the animal in under 2 minutes.

Wait for a head on shot and shoot it square in the middle. The 50 will suck all the guts out the pooper without messing up any meat wink

Make sure to use a premium bullet in that 50. You don't want the the bullet to go splat on the shoulder and leave a wounded deer to run off.

200 yards might as well be 2 miles unless you are shooting a Creedmoor!

You want a Sub-MOA rifle??? You better build you a really expensive custom rifle and top it with a $3k scope and feed it custom reloads cooked up specifically for your rifle!!

Or just go buy you a Savage and some Federal Premium and watch the haters cry! clap

It's true, me and some others who are expert hunters from the couch with our laptops have heard of it many times. Can also be done with a 17Mach2 but you have to be at least 1200 yards away to not damage meat, I heard from a guy who knows everything.

Re: Latest THF hunting drama - 12/12/17 04:25 AM

Don't forget to mount a bayonet, because .50 BMG is a military cartridge and all military cartridges expect a bayonet to make the barrel resonate correctly. Besides you never know when hunting if your game is gonna turn on you and an edged weapon really might be needed. A wounded whitetail can cross an open meadow in 1.5 seconds and eat eat your crunchy granola bars and drink your beer.

Got this straight from an eighteen year old former sniper and safari guide at the Walmart gun counter so it has to be true, those guys know their stuff!

All I buy is Nosler Partition Hollow Points. I shot a scotch double on two hogs that were lined up. Broke all 4 shoulders. Pencil size entries, silver dollar exits on both in one shot.

If the designers of the .17 Incinerator had been really creative, they'd have necked it down to .14 or .12 caliber.
