I am in the market for a mid-priced .270. I want stainless and just wanted to see if I could get any reviews. Probably$600-$800 max.

I shoot the Tikka T3 in 270 and love it. Great gun.

Really love my Tikka 270. It is very accurate.

The Tikka T3 SS Lite I had was more accurate than I was...just needed a Limbsaver Pad on it since it only weighed 6lbs 2 oz's bare nekkid and the max loads could put a hurt on me after doing a couple hour range session, even as part of a 3-4 gun rotation.

I wouldn't be against any of the big names, Winchester, ruger, Remington, savage, tika, weatherby, browning, etc. look at them all and see what you like, I highly doubt one truly out does the others for a hunting rifle.

Yup...Tikka. Smooooth action, Sako barrel. And based on my rifle, i’d go with the 20 inch barrel and not worry about giving up 100 fps of MV.

Weatherby Vanguard for me. If I didn’t dislike DBM’s it would be a toss-up between a Vanguard and a Tikka.

If you want to stretch your budget, Euro Optics offers the Sako 85 Synthetic Black in 270 for $950, you will probably never own a finer fit / functioning rifle for the price....if you can get over the crazy scope mounting system. Great shooting rifles at a great price!

I don't like the feel of "cheap". Although I am not a great fan of the push feed action, the Weatherby Vanguard is a good one. I don't dislike anyone enough to give them a Tikka.
A used all weather Ruger 77 would be my choice in your price range.

The Weatherby Vanguard S2 Stainless can be had for about $650 on gunbroker. That's the way I'd go.

Life is too short to have to use a Ruger trigger.

Tikka T3 or Browning X Bolt.
I have both and they're both excellent.

Lol. Switched gears again and ordered a Savage 16 in .260 Rem. I have a hunting buddy that just goes on and on about his. We will see!
