I've been looking for a .357 and this little guy was too good to pass. It's with 1911 Academy getting a trigger/action job. Got some loads ready to test.

Looks to be a 4" model 586. I carried a 686 my first few years on patrol. A bit heavy but accurate and a pleasure to shoot.

That is a great looking revolver. Where are you getting the trigger and action job?

Nice! I've got an old Dan Wesson .357 snubby that was my grandfathers Dallas PD service pistol. Kicks like a mule!

took it to 1911 Academy on 380 near McKinney. They used to be the gunsmiths at Frisco Gun Club. I also had them order a new side plate screw , as the previous owner boogered the original. He had the job done the afternoon I dropped it off. waiting on the screw from Numurich to get here. There are 4-5 smiths there, they do everything, not just 1911's.

586/686 best 357 ever made! One of my few gun sell regrets is a 6" 686 where I had the trigger lightened/smoothed but just had to have a 9 while I was in college. Best revolver I've ever shot.

Very nice! That's one of my favorite revolvers and IMO one of the finest revolvers ever made. That one has really nice grain in the grips too.

I got really lucky on the grips, may not even have to order Altamonts. We'll see how it shoots after I get it back from the gunsmith.

Sweet looking revolver. I've got an old Dan Wesson that looks about as clean as yours that I need to get looked at. It shoots way off from center with 38 special loads and I think it may have something to do with the barrel.

Anyway, very nice gun!

Dang, Fitz, I just sold a 6" 586 on the forum a couple weeks ago. Very light trigger. P_102
