looking for gas piston and gas seal for Remington 1100. Anywhere local I could buy these?

Buzz, if you don't find it local, Midway USA is your friend. Gas Piston assembly for $19 & $6 for the O-ring. They will hit you for about $5 shipping but you should be up and running for $30.

My 1100 project is coming along pretty good. I was able to get the piston and seal cleaned up pretty good and ordered a new "O" ring and a plug, the guy had a piece of dry cleaner hanger cardboard rod....jeez that's a new one on me, always seen the dowel rod. I'll pick up a new dowel rod at Academy.

I'll put it back together and see how it goes. Daughter is going dove hunting this weekend, so I'll patch it up.

I will then have the stock shortened and a soft pad installed by someone.

kinda fun doing this, I'm no gunsmith but its fun

I've use a #2 pencil before, but never a hanger rod.........
