With the right lathe, you can cut it down to any length. But machinist work isn't cheap. Cheaper route would just be to find a new 12" barrel.

Cutting/threading is going to run you $50-100. Add that to the cost of the barrel and are you coming out ahead of buying a different one (i.e. 12")?

Barrels in 11.5" CHF are around $250. That's why I thought id ask.

If its a midlength system, it probably wouldn't work unless supressed. The gas port would be about where the threads for a muzzle device start and you wouldn't be able to generate enough back pressure before the projectile exited the barrel... unless you ran a can at all times.

Will be suppressed full time.

May just sell it and buy another.

If it's a dedicated supressed rig, it should run pretty good actually. Wouldn't be nearly as over gasses as a pistol or carbine gas system.

Morgan cut my mid length gas barrel down to about 11 3/4 that was the shortest he could go and still be able to thread it and not effect the gas port

Knew it would be close. Plus I just remembered... have to get a gas block on there as well.

Will do. It's going out in the morning. Shouldn't take too long to get it back. He's pretty quick on the turnaround.
