Finally got my AR. Help appraising it? - 04/29/14 01:56 AM

After a few weeks of looking, I picked up a new (to me) AR-15. If you guys could help appraise my purchase, I would greatly appreciate it.

I'm excited to use it to take out some piggies. rifle

My purchase included:

Pre-ban Eagle Arms 5.56 AR-15 w/ custom paint job
Yukon NVRS 2.5x42 Tactical Gen2+ night vision scope
Bushnell Sport holographic sight
Custom trigger job (one I haven't seen before, any insight?)
Bipod
Foregrip
Collapsible stock
Three 30 round mags

Best guess would be to keep from yanking to one side when you pull the trigger, using more than one finger prpb ends up in a smoother pull. But idk

Never seen that trigger either. Post a pic on arfcom......someone there will know about it. The preban lower itself is worth about $800 if sold on a nationwide site like arfcom.
The bushnell only about $150ish
NV....dont know but ya could look it up
What is the finish used in the paint job? Duracote or cerakote run $200 and up for multi colors
Stock...nothing special, lust a basic set up

It there a brand name on that trigger/grip set up?

Looks like a paintball trigger so someone could flutter two fingers for faster fire...

According to the link it's some type of actuator that fires when the trigger is pressed, and fires when it's released.

I have a similar trigger that came with an AK47 I purchased back in the late 80's. It's
an accident waiting to happen. Be very careful with it.

Just out of curiosity, what did you pay for that contraption?

I think you may have overpaid somewhat. Personally, I'd keep the night vision and sell off everything else separately and get a different rifle. That trigger is a disaster waiting to happen and the "custom paint" looks like its just rattle can and stencil.

I don't know. I presume the night vision works, in which case I think he did pretty good. I'd take off that trigger and grip and put something else on there. and then you are ready to roll. Hell, OP I think I have an extra milspec FCG I can send you if you are interested. PM me if interested.

I tend to agree. The NVRS 2.5x42 is "out of print", but if it actually has a gen2+ intensifier tube then he probably got the rifle for next to nothing. Even if it's an old gen1 then he still probably didn't overpay just on a "sum of parts" basis.

I am wondering about that [censored]-eyed buttstock, though...

Looks like a M4 butt stock with a CAA saddle on it and a butt pad on it.

I agree with that. At first glance it looked like it was out of cant.

Thanks guys. The NVRS is bada$$ IMO. Works perfect and I can see clear as day in pitch black for several hundred yards. Haven't shot the thing yet...if I could just get out of work!!!

He needs a new pistol grip and trigger guard. I think that's all.

Paint job, not too bad, more green than I like, but hey, depends on where you shoot/hide..

Re: Finally got my AR. Help appraising it? - 04/30/14 09:33 PM

Yep ^^^^^ what Randy said. Just take that contraption off and put a grip and trigger guard on. Then try to sell the weird trigger.

Re: Finally got my AR. Help appraising it? - 05/02/14 03:45 PM

Never wore TYE Dyed or whitewashed anything.

NEVER EVER Had a Mullet.......Dad would have punched me out and Mom would have given me a trim.

Then I was LEO and we had to keep our hair whitewalled, not touching the collar.
