Silent Auction

Silent Auction - 10/07/14 03:21 AM

On Saturday Oct 25th my therapeutic riding center is holding a free Fall Carnival at our center in Argyle. It's something we do to give back to the community and help recruit volunteers for our riding programs. We will have horse and pony rides, hayrides and all sorts of fun activities for kids. To help pay for the carnival we have a silent auction the day of the event.

If you have an item you'd like to donate to the auction please let me know. We are a 501c3 charity, so I can provide a tax receipt for any item donated. Also... If you'd like to bid on items at the auction please let me know. I'm not going to list them in the THF classifieds (against the rules). But if you PM me your email address I can send the auction item list, and even if you don't come out to the carnival, you can send proxy bids into the auctioneer.

Thanks ahead of time for your help. Here is our website for more information on the carnival, and what we do at the center to help disabled kids and adults. www.NEWHOPEEQUINE.COM

Heck, send me a list when you get one finalized, please. Might find something I cannot live without.

Will do jdk. So far we've had a .22 rifle and ammo donated, as well as a lot of arts and craft items (wife stuff?) and a few gift cards.

I've had a few inquiries about "what" would be a good donation. Things like sports tickets and memorabilia sell well to guys, as well as gift cards to sporting goods stores or HD/Lowes. If a guide or outfitter donated a fishing or hunting trip I'm sure that would do great as well. Knives would do well, but guns/ammos are little problematic because we can't leave them out on bid tables. Bottom line, we're not picky, as long as it doesn't cost more to transport an item than we'll receive for it.

We've received a number of generous donations for the auction. Archery equipment, rifle and bow cases, .22 rifle and ammo, pop up blind, tote bags, calls and many more new or lightly used hunting items. PM me for a detailed auction list and well set you up for proxy bidding!

Look forward to meeting the wife and kids Craig. Should be easy to find me. I'll be on the tractor pulling a hay wagon.

Hope it all goes well. Wish I would have gotten the list before 8pm the day bids had to be submitted. Did not see the email until this morning.

Dave had a good turnout when Mrs. Goldstein and I dropped by with the twins earlier.

Great looking place you got there, Dave. Good thing you are doing, and I hope today raised a bunch of funds for your cause.

Kids enjoyed the petting zoo, and they were able to go for a quick ride in the arena.

Great to se you and meet Mrs Goldy and the twins. Cute kiddos! We did well on the fundraising, but more important was the friend-raising and good will the event generated. We hope for 200 and had close to 250 people come out. Great time had by all. Thanks again for those of you who donated items or time and energy to the event.
