Neighbor just got one. Looks pretty good, but it’s the same price as the Sightmark Wraith. Who prefers ATN.

I'm amazed at ATN is still in business as much as I am Christensen Rifles are.
They both build a piece of chit.

I looked up some reviews on that scope, and they were not kind.

This can't be overstated, "Friends don't let friends buy ATN."

With the quality and pricing of DNT Optics it's hard to believe folks still go with ATN's

When he was over here, I didn’t see any ATN markings on the scope, so I looked it up. I didn’t ask him why he didn’t spend equal money on a Sightmark.
On the scope, it said OPMOD X-Sight 5, which I had never heard of. That’s why I looked it up and found some reviews, which were not favorable. I have to guess that he did no research. But, I really hope this scope works great for him.

duffas, I didn't know you were a fan! When he was over here, I didn’t see any ATN markings on the scope, so I looked it up. I didn’t ask him why he didn’t spend equal money on a Sightmark.
On the scope, it said OPMOD X-Sight 5, which I had never heard of. OPMOD is Optics Planet Modification, which on some brands/models is often just a color difference or badging and then maybe an additional accessory or two as near as I can tell. https://www.opticsplanet.com/opmod-...7eh0Vpuex_ibgWVvNCWUuO2hR8DpJ0WjeVouzpPF

The neighbor is a guy the wife and I like a lot, and no way will I suggest that he did wrong in buying that scope.
“Optics Planet Modification”…that’s very interesting.

Some ATNs work, some don't. But customer service sucks.

Yes, I have an OLT scanner when I first 'explored' IR for hunting. Won't recommend it but it still works. Mu dealings with Yugo was at M.W. auto center, kid pulls up in one and asks if we have what he needs. Shows me the floor gear shifter that came 'disassembled'. We would not work on them!

Some ATNs work, some don't. But customer service sucks. I bought two of the ATN X-sights almost 10 years ago when they first came out. (joined this forum shortly after as many people around here were buying them) One 3x and one 5x. They are both still working, although the 3x occasionally shuts off when you fire a shot. A nephew and a friend both bought ATN X-Sights a few years later. Both are still working fine. When it came time to buy a thermal 3 1/2 years ago I saw a good black Friday pricing on the Thor LT 320. Bought two of them one for me and one for my son. My son's died after a year. He went to the ATN web site, filled out the online RMA form. It took a week or two, but ATN sent him an RMA number and he shipped the scope back. They sent him a brand new thermal one model above what he sent in. My other son got a Sightmark Wraith, it died after 3 years, Sightmark wouldn't touch it. I know ATN gets a lot of hate around here, but it just doesn't match my experience.

Some ATNs work, some don't. But customer service sucks. I don't know that their CS sucks, but it does appear to be inconsistent. So it is a crapshoot with the units you buy. Then there is the customer service. All electro optics will need repair sooner or later, but with ATN, it is a crapshoot as to whether or not you get good customer service. They have a good rating with the BBB, which basically means that customers who had unresolved issues when through the BBB for help and ATN responded appropriately, AFTER BBB got involved.
