Belgium. That's a really cool place.

Silver spurs and gold tequila
keep me hanging on.
Pretty girls and old cantinas
give me shelter from the storm.

We flew into amsterdam and passed dee haag while driving. Rhymes with prague, but totally different part of the continent.

The picture above shows a building that was entirely rebuilt after 1918. It was wrecked badly before that.

"The question is, do you know what ot is and where it is?"

I admit that I had to look it up. Sounds like a very interesting museum.

Hud, was your dad here (the ardenne) during the war?

I didn’t know your dad was a WWII veteran. Huge thanks to him and his fellow troops!

Ardennes. Bastogne, the Battle of the Bulge, and location of Easy Company's foxholes. My kids have stood in them.

This photo from May 1940 shpws Hitler standing where I am taking the picture. The door entrance has been the same since 1940 or at least repaired to be exactly the same. My guess is it hasnt been repaired because there are other parts not in good condition around it so i am guesing the door/entrance remains original from that picture.

I hope the rest of your trip is a ball - we head to Northern Bavaria and the Black Forest in a week or so. Pop be gone 13 years in four days and I still miss that guy. Thinking about what he endured in the Ardenne, where he got his Purple Heart, leaves me rather uncomfortable when idiots don't respect the anthem or the flag. I know there are bigger medal collections given to even better, more deserving people but, I display his prominently in my office. I will never be as good as he was.

Not much for gardening and flowers, but red poppies have always held a special place in my heart.

Beer and whiskey, 'cause you can't drink bacon!!
