Do the deer ever browse on them? Looks good.

Not really, nothing really bothers them, cows, deer or pigs.

I've tried twice on a small 1 1/2 acre pasture at the lake house in MO. Both times I'm all excited when I see them start blooming, we leave on Sunday, I can't wait to go back on Friday to see my future dove spot.

Get there and the deer have basically walked down the middle of the rows and eaten the tops off of EVERY sunflower. We're surrounded by 1,000's of acres of forest, so that might have something to do with it.

Plant native sunflowers and the deer wont eat them. Good thing is you only have to plant native once. After just plow the area in Jan-Feb and they will come right back.

If you are planting hybrids or blackoil sunflowers the deer will demolish them. They won't mess with natives.

Stompy, fields are looking GREAT!

Season will be here before you know it! Can't wait to speed time away from the Metro Mess.

Stompy, do you spray out your wheat before you turn it under in Jan/Feb?

Any pre-emergent?

No wheat in these fields, all I do is disc and drag the fields in January. I put no chemicals on the field.
