I watched them come off the roost and go the opposite direction I thought they would. I was between them and the closest water but they went away from it. I started working the call and got them talking back. Within about 3 minutes I had the hens out in front of me at about 40 yards, stayed on the call and had them come right to me, turn, go away. I got a good gobble from a tom, called back and he came in on a rope. Shot him at 25 yards. I let him lay a minute, called and got a gobble back from another tom. This went on for a couple of minutes and watched him come in puffing and strutting. It was really cool to have him right out there, staring right at the mesquite I was sitting against all camo'd up. Shot the second one at 40 yards. We have really good #'s of birds this year. In the last pic you can see the 1st bird and the mesquite I was under in the background. An unethical shot is one you take, that you know you shouldn't.
