Well decided to go fill the feeders. Didn’t take any camo, decoys just a mouth call. Drove around and found one bird but he saw me before I saw him. Continued around and went back to the same area an hour later. Didn’t hear anything so started the trek to my truck. 40 yards from my truck I hear a gobble. Hit the mouth call and he responds. So I hunker down and wait…. One shot. One bird. First one ever that I’ve called in and shot solo. Only turkeys I’ve ever killed in the past was from a gentleman on here that took me hunting about 20 years ago. Pretty proud of my 55 year old tail.

I have found that when it's on, it's on. You know, like when you catch one on every cast in a good stock tank early fall, during the whitetail rut..........

When turkey hunting is on like it was for you, they will walk past a picnic to come to a call. Good job!

Heck I wouldn’t even know, lol. I have never really ever hunted turkeys before so I have idea about habits or anything like that. I’ll tell you one thing, I’m kinda hooked.

I was still hidden, but I have seen some videos of guys that have done that. I stayed pretty still and tucked in some brush just to make sure, but it seemed to be that both of them that I called in wanted to be there.

Yea, we have called them into camp more than once after hearing them gobble nearby. No camos, sitting on the porch or standing around the trucks and they walk right in ignoring us while looking for that hen.

It's easy to get hooked. It's the one hunting I love to hate. Congratulations.
