The best buck on my ranch still hasn't drop his antlers. I know this is unusual but not sure if I should be concerned. He looks healthy, no injuries, antlers are very light colored. Anyone else have bucks keep their antlers into April? I’m in Breckenridge.

I think all of mine have shed this year, but years ago I saw a buck group in Mills county in April and about half still had antlers. I wouldn't worry, Stompy, they'll shed when they're ready.

One I have been watching (he's pretty significant) just shed this past weekend. I have one buck left with antlers.

Crazy how they drop, at home my first I saw dropped February 3rd. Most middle age deer lost theirs in the past two weeks. Still have one mature buck that still has both sides and a handful of spikes and forkys that haven’t dropped yet.

I saw three last week with antlers still.

It seems this year that bucks have held onto their antlers longer than usual.

My big deer started as early as January 6th up until two weeks ago. I still have a 1/12yr old 6 pt hanging on to one side. Personally I think it has more to do with the drought conditions this year then anything else. The first real rain we got was two weeks ago now 1.5" since last labor day. I think they're reacting more to what the weather is throwing at them currently. They are already starting to show some bumps......

I had a big deer come by the camera today, he’s got some pretty good bumps started. I haven’t got a picture of a hard horned buck in a couple of weeks on all of my places.
