I got prescription of testosterone from my Urologist. I was too chicken to jab that big needle in my thigh and never tried it.
I'm sure it would have helped me though., One thing about losing all this weight. I have no appetite and I'm not eating enough protein. Low on energy the second half of the day. I got some new Protein Shakes which are supposed to be good.

What needles are you guys seeing? I use a 27 ga 1/2" needle to inject. It's quite small and with some practice, you won't even feel it. You just need a needle long enough to get intramuscular. I do use a heavier gauge needle to draw then switch to the thinner one to inject. Also, if you inject slowly you won't get the soft tissue damage that you get from the hydraulics effect like when a nurse or doctor pushes the plunger hard and fast. You won't experience the soreness after the injection. Don't hesitate for fear of needles. I think you can overcome that. My urologist gave me my first injection and it he used an 18 ga 1 1/2" needle. That hurt and it is not necessary to use a needle that big. I wouldn't do that either.
Bisquit, not trying to sway you, but I would go to your urologist, endocrinologist, or your family doctor first before using one of the hormone dedicated clinics. My impressinon of the clinics is they are there to push product.

Why not go to your primary Dr? Mine has been giving me my rx’s and monitoring my t levels and such for years. Btw- I started with the weekly jab but I didn’t like the highs and lows so I went to the daily gel. Rub it on my shoulders in the morning after my shower and get on with my day.

How consistent does this keep your levels ? I get tested every 6 months. Only time it varies is when I don’t pick up my meds on time. Consistently in the low 600’s.

My impressinon of the clinics is they are there to push product. You are either in acceptable levels are not, most of the hormones clinic do start you too low in my opinion, where as your family doctor may go high and then lower. One thing that usually convenient about the specialized clinics is blood testing right there on site.

I withdraw from the vial with a larger needle, then change to a smaller gauge needle for the actual injection. The main side-effect I've experienced is edema. I started at 1 cc/wk and have dropped to 1/2 cc/wk, and that still may be too much. Blood work at the end of this month to confirm.

kry226, I have settled in at 0.5cc's also. It took me a while to find my correct dosage. I was converting much of the replacement T to estrogen and really wastn't getting any benefit. Be sure your Dr checks your estrogen levels. A couple of Dr's I tried didn't check it. They just wanted to hook me into a plan. I've done the creams, the gels, the liquids and injections. The injections worked best. I spread mine out and inject 0.25 twice a week. I've been doing it for almost 20 years now. I had a five year break in TRT while dealing with prostate cancer. I started back last year. It definitely has it's benefits.
