We are doing some nuisance beaver trapping for a single mom/rancher outside of town. Finally got into the active water and caught this nice little beaver.
Should be able to pull another 3-4 out of there we hope.
Creek still has some ice on it and their under fur should be prime.

These will all get tanned I think, hides are worth about $20 right now.
I'll get this one boarded today.

Going up to address our own beaver problem today, hope to get a few sets out and get some tree cutters taken out.

Worked up there quite a bit and never saw any like that

Not your beavers or bobcats, lol.

I think the biggest taken out of this creek weighed about 50 lbs, our mentor caught it several year back.
Judging by the size of the scat in the water we have at least one good sized beaver running the creek. We'll have to weed out the small ones probably first.

Had 2 misses and caught a nice small one. Going up after work to check again. We'll run them through next weekend I think.
Found some nice brown trout that need rescuing from the between the dams.

crazy how much havoc those little guys can create.

Had a 42 lb male in a set today.
Also has 2 misses, 1 pullout for sure.

how big does a beaver get? that is huge.

Found out it's a female so a bigger male should be there.

I'd call that one large, you all can get really big beavers down there as ntxtrapper posted. Texas state record is North of 100lbs.

We think the male should be about 50+ lbs or so if he is mature, and he should be mature.

This female is going to be a big rug when boarded.

Even her back feet were pretty good sized.

The record beaver was from Wisconsin. 110 pounds.

I had no idea they got so large.
