We drove by an accident last week on 187 , our radio was completely turned off as we got close , came back an hour later and passed the same scene on the other side of the road, sa,e thing.

I didn’t know police cars did this. Do tell…

No marked police car can do this. We had cell and RF jammer trucks for search warrants or barricaded persons that were very powerful and it still took two of them at either end of an apartment complex to work correctly just for that small area. Air Force planes can do this though because we had one accidently turned on at the NAS JRB and our police radios didn't work for hours until they discovered it.

It has nothing to with the police cars. There’s an area in Forney that you no longer get cell phone reception, it kills any Bluetooth connection, CarPlay gets shut off, AM/FM radio goes to static, and it’s only started within the last 6 months after they opened the new distribution center with a Dutch Bros coffee in the parking lot. Whatever electronics they are using are crazy strong.

The 516 mile marker is like that on 20. Kill everything but my satellite radio. There is a big tower there. Kicks the Bluetooth out.

A couple of years ago you couldn’t park a new Ford vehicle at the DQ in Wills Point because something there was blocking the remote from unlocking the vehicle. My sister in-law did it repeatedly

I know of a big warehouse and distribution facility, that is outside city limits and semi rural, and cell phones lose a signal near there. Is there any chance the owners have a jamming device keeping their employees from using their cell phones at work?

Not without violating federal law.

Interesting and I appreciate you all weighing in- must have been complete irony that a wrench had just occurred and there was a lot of first responders in the area. Now I want to drive by again and see if reoccurs

In Houston on the East side of BW8 just south of 225 there is a dead zone like that for about two exits. I'm not sure if it's from the elementary school on the west side of the road, or one of the industrial complexes on the east side of the road, but it will knock out your wireless car play every time you drive through there.

Our building and parking lot in Denison is an absolute black hole. I have to be on wifi in the building to receive calls or texts and once I leave the building I have to drive down the road about a 1/4 mile before I get service back to make a call. I'm on ATT and there is a tower probably 2 miles away but it's just our little business center is a in a nogo zone.

They exist but I don't see a company buying a large one. They are pricy and it's use has to be approved for sale. The FCC deploys RF measuring trucks based on complaints. Getting in trouble with them would be a real bad deal too.

Here’s the update , my wife drove by it again today. Going south on 287 it’s just before NRS. This time no first responders but it blinked her screen, stopped maps and Spotify for 5 seconds

Mine does it there, and also on 380 by the Decatur Sheriff offices. There is also a spot on 199 South of Azle that does it.

There are lots of places in the DFW area where this occurs. I believe it is due to TXDOT using wireless networks in places where their typical fiber optic network is not accessible or practical.

Interesting topic.

The wife and I were test driving a new Lexus at Sewell over near love field. In the middle of the drive the radio turned on FULL VOLUME and neither I nor the salesman could turn it down or off. Locked up in a busy traffic area I could not get it off the road for a minute and a half. Finally pulled off into the grass and everyone bailed out of the car. The sound was deafening. I was PIZZED! Salesman finally shut down the car several times before it turned off.

As it turns out President Trump had just flown into Love Field in AF 1 and I wondered if that had something do with it.

Several catholic churches use jammers in Mexico during mass. I could see issues arising because of it.
