I have a bunch of Whitman folders. Also, when the news came out, a long time ago, that all future dimes, halves and quarters would be clad, I started taking my meager paycheck to the bank and getting rolls of dimes and quarters, going through them and then back to the bank for more. I still have quite a few rolls of silver sitting in my gun safe.

The guys on TFF know that I'm an avid gold & silver bug. My mindset on these is that I'm leaving them for my daughter to benefit from.

That said, yes, I'd love to see the prices on both metals climb.

I'm not into collecting or putting together sets I like the canvas bags and Mason jars full of coins to look at. They say that a quart mason jar can hold approximately 2,330 to 2,790 dimes.

I only collect .50 cent pieces and silver dollars. You would be surprised how many a typical bank takes in on a daily basis. Scored 3/5 yesterday from Wells Fargo. BTW...most young people have no clue what those are. I've also got about 20 silver certificate $1 bills.

In a previous life I was treated like slave labor by one side of the family.

I was given the task to clean out a dead aunt's storage building. The place was a treasure trove.

I found several old Colt pistols and bags of old coins. There were bags of U.S. and foreign coins. I collected coins and I knew what I had found. I quietly put them away.

When you "buy gold", do they give you a brick of Boullion or coins?

Where do you keep it, in a safety deposit box?

where do you buy it and not get screwed with service fees, etc?

I've only got one piece of gold and zero pieces of silver.

Brass, copper and lead is what I'm heavy in.

I was born in Atlanta Georgia, and a lot of the relatives live in the Monroe and Macon area. Stone Mt. is right there, and still means a lot to Southerners. The only thing I collected for years was Stone Mountain commemorative half dollars. They sell for $25-100 dollars now. smile

Gold Krugerrands, I’ll have to look where I bought last. I think I bought last local

Funny ,

a few minutes after posting the above , I sold a 3 oz sterling Norman Rockwell bar and a morgan silver dollar.
My inventory is getting low. I did find 3 x 5oz "river of no return" coins in the safe. Bought them in I've 2019. They are listed at $230. at APMEX.
I think I bought these with the intent of giving them to Grandkids, Problem is I now have 6 grandkids.

Brick would be over $100K, if you go to sell it you would get screwed and be issued a 1099

People like to do coins and sell them and not have to report income

www.apmex.com and www.jmbullion.com are both reliable sellers

Have dealt with both multiple times over the years
