We saw the best quail numbers since 2017...maybe even 2016.

Saw the lightbulb turn on for my young Britt and a buddy's pointer this season. It's amazing how quickly they come along when you put them on wild birds.
Met some new hunting buddies.
A new youth introduced and hooked on quail hunting.
Overall a pretty good season, but now its time to rest up.


It's time to clean and store the hunting gear, then start in on the list of chores that have been ignored for the last few months.

Sadly, our lease area is not off to a good start regarding rain. There has less about 0.2" since Christmas, with none in Feb. Things need to change rapidly to make a decent nesting season.
