I've hunted the area north of there a bit, but not LSDR. That country is pretty flat, so they'll be roosted in oaks. Find taller trees adjacent to open areas/senderos and be ready for them (and you) to cover some serious ground all day from their roost. Coyotes can really key in on gobbling birds here and they might get pretty quiet, so sometimes sitting tight works for silent incoming birds.

My son and I drew the turkey hunt down at La Sal Del Rey. Dos anyone have any experience or tips for hunting this area? Thanks in advance! JJ We hunted the youth WT and Nilgai hunt last year. We seen and heard Turkeys on every hunt. We sat in a ground blind along the tree line about 800 yards off of the west entrance off Chapa road on the north side.
