I was just goose hunting on a property that had some cattle on Friday. I wonder if we could train a couple up.

You could always use a decoy cow. I have not had the opportunity to try it for waterfowl, but have for hogs a few times. Maybe the use of real ones in Texas is the origin for the use of silhouette cow decoys for geese.

I've done it to sneak up on snow geese during the conservation season. It was not fun walking 200+ yards hunched behind that thing carrying it and a shotgun but I think the 2 of us shot 12 or so birds once we dropped the board.

I commented in that thread last year.

Now I've ordered a Montana Decoy Big Red Cow decoy for my upcoming hog hunting trip. I've got a Stoeger Coach gun cut down like Mad Max (legally of course). I want to see if I can get close enough to kill a hog with a load of buckshot. I'll have my son backing me up with a rifle on the other side of the decoy.

I'll try the decoy on geese next year.
